ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE

My Studies

A good education is a well-rounded one. When it comes to learning, I know that this is not just restricted to traditional academic institutions. As a professional in my field, I have had the opportunity to learn from all kinds of sources, including mentors, colleagues and even from those who are not in my field at all. All of this has helped me become the person I am today, which is why I hold it in such high regard.

URBAN PLANNING PRACTICUM, SUNY UNIVERSITY AT BUFFALO

FALL 2021

Collaborated with peers on a project involving bringing vibrancy to a marginalized neighborhood on Buffalo’s East Side. Surveyed existing neighborhood conditions and mapped public spaces using GIS software and Adobe Creative Cloud. Interacted with area stakeholders and residents for input that was applied to our project vision. Utilized design and 3D modeling software to present our plans to community members, stakeholders, and local media.

URBAN PLANNING PRACTICUM, SUNY UNIVERSITY AT BUFFALO

SPRING 2021

Analyzed existing comprehensive plans for the Village of Springville, NY as part of a group project. Led peers to evaluate existing conditions and map the region’s open spaces, multi-use trails, and waterways using GIS software and Adobe Creative Cloud. Assessed needs in the areas of housing affordability, downtown development and revitalization, recreational multi-use space, water infrastructure and economic development. Worked closely with peers to present our findings and suggestions to the village and Erie County planning professionals.

SINGAPORE STUDY ABROAD, SINGAPORE INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT (SIM)

SUMMER 2018

Led a team of five to develop business plans and market entry strategies for an American company to expand into Singapore. Focused on key markets and international business communications.

RESEARCH ASSISTANT, THE RESEARCH FOUNDATION OF STATE UNIVERSITY OF NY AT BUFFALO

May 2021 - June 2021

Assisted the Chair of the Department of Urban and Regional Planning and his research partner to extend their research on how community organizations have pivoted their operations in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Performed extensive academic and popular literature searches to obtain publications that focused on community organizations during COVID-19. Organized and expanded a large existing database of community organizations. Prepared a final report describing how these organizations have adapted to COVID-19 and if there were any commonalities between their approaches.

ASSISTANT LEAD & LEVEL III CUSTOMER CARE ADVOCATE, UNIVERA HEALTHCARE

August 2019 - Present

Assist with supervisor roles regarding member inquiries. Assist with new hire training. Present new material during team meetings. Provide services for members and business partners in a professional, efficient, and timely manner.
