Springville Studio

In this project, my class and I worked directly with mayor Bill Krebs, the commissioner of Erie County Department of Environmental Planning, Dan Castle, and many other stakeholders to develop recommendations to improve the livability of Springville. Some of the recommendations include: creating more affordable housing units while also rehabilitating existing properties, creating da downtown streetscape that focuses on increasing pedestrian activity, implement new design elements downtown, and bolter the economy by making the village a major center for retail and commercial activity. I specifically assisted and led teams to develop plans to implement a Springway (pg. 57-65), improve connections to Zoar Valley and other regional trail systems (pg. 67-78), as well as address the areas wastewater and stormwater management/infrastructure (pg.83-88).
